Why Keep Me Available
What is a retainer? A retainer is a monthly fee paid up front to retain my services for the allotted number of hours each month. It gives you access to design services without the cost of a permanent employee. It is billed each month for the month ahead. By retaining my services in advance, you are ensuring that I have blocked out the appropriate amount of time to accommodate your design needs for that month.

How does it work? You select a monthly package that suits your needs. A retainer requires a 6 month minimum commitment. I will keep track of the time that I work each month. If I work less than the allotted hours I will roll the extra hours over to the next month. Rollover hours expire at the end of the second month. If I work over the allotted hours I will send you a detailed separate invoice for the overage. You will be informed ahead of time if it appears that I will go over your limit. The cost is $30/hour for each additional hour. I will document all time and email a status upon finalization of requested service with a time that service took to preform. Each monthly invoice will have total hours available listed for next month.

What services are included in a retainer? You get full service graphic and web design services at a discounted rate. This includes but is not limited to flyers, brochures, cards, business cards, web banners, signage, writing and editing, website management, and management of printing or production of any of these items. I will give you an estimate of anticipated time before the start of a project so that you can better utilize my services. I.E. Flyers generally take 8 hours to complete front and back (not including design changes and consultation).

What services are not included in a retainer?
A retainer does not include printing and shipping costs, stock photo purchases, or any other service that warrants an additional cost on my part. It also does not include initial website design and set up as that takes in excess of 10 hours. Video production and video promotions are not included. If you aren’t sure what may constitute an additional fee I am happy to discuss it with you.

What are the benefits of a monthly retainer?
  • Priority service and turnaround time
  • Discounted design rate
  • Non-payroll employee available every month for design service
  • Convenient monthly billing
  • Roll unused hours over to the next month
